Folke ("we," "our," or "us") is a group management app developed by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Folke mobile application ("the App").

1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used for account authentication and communication
- Display name — shown to other members of your group
- Username — used to identify your account and allow others to find you

You may choose to provide:
- Phone number — for additional account identification
- Profile photo — displayed within your group
1.3 User-Generated Content
When you use the App, you may create and share:
- Chat messages and images sent within group conversations
- Grocery list items
- Todo items and task assignments
- Important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, events)
1.4 Group Data
We store information about the groups you create or join, including:
- Group names
- Group membership (which users belong to which groups)
1.5 Automatically Collected Data
We automatically collect:
- Crash logs and diagnostics — collected to help us identify and fix bugs and improve app stability
We do not collect location data, device contacts, browsing history, or any data from other apps on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enable group features (shared lists, todos, chat, and dates)
- Deliver push notifications about group activity
- Diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
- Communicate with you about your account or the service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Folke uses third-party services to operate. These services may process your data as described in their respective privacy policies:
- Authentication — handles user sign-in and account management
- Database — stores your app data (messages, lists, todos, dates, group information)
- File storage — stores files and images you upload (such as chat images and profile photos)
- Server-side processing — runs logic to support app features
- Crash reporting — collects crash reports and diagnostic data to help us improve app stability
- Push notifications — delivers push notifications to your device
These services are provided by established cloud infrastructure providers and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:
- Using secure authentication methods
- Enforcing security rules on our database and storage to prevent unauthorized access
- Transmitting data over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Within your group — your display name, profile photo, messages, and shared content are visible to other members of your group
- With third-party service providers — as described in Section 3, solely to operate the App

6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law.
User-generated content shared within a group (such as chat messages) may remain visible to other group members even after your account is deleted.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in the App
- Update your account information (display name, profile photo, etc.) within the App
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at support@folkeapp.com
- Request a copy of your personal data by contacting us
8. Children's Privacy
Folke is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@folkeapp.com and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
