Terms of Service

Welcome to Folke. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Folke mobile application ("the App"), developed and operated by an individual developer ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Folke, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Account Registration

To use Folke, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Use of the App

Folke provides group management features including shared grocery lists, shared todos, group chat, important dates, and group invitations. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

3.1 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional content
  • Upload content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its servers, or other users' accounts
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to interact with the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or infrastructure

4. User-Generated Content

4.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and share through Folke, including chat messages, images, grocery list items, todo items, and important dates ("Your Content").

4.2 License to Us

By posting content through the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App's features. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account.

4.3 Content Visibility

Content you share within a group is visible to all members of that group. Please be mindful of what you share. We are not responsible for how other group members may use or share content outside of the App.

4.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion and without notice.

5. Group Management

Users can create groups and invite others to join. As a group creator or member, you are responsible for the invitations you send. We are not responsible for the actions of other group members.

6. Push Notifications

Folke may send you push notifications about group activity (new messages, list updates, etc.). You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The Folke app, including its design, code, graphics, logo, and overall look and feel, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of Folke is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account by contacting us at support@folkeapp.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any content shared by users within the App.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App
  • Any content posted or shared by users
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any other matter relating to the App

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (if any).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
